In the weeks after Easter, we are told that Jesus appeared to the disciples and even some other people, like Mary Magdelene. At first they didn’t recognize him, but then in each story there comes an aha! moment in which the person sees Jesus.
At Helping Hands at First English every Saturday we live that story as we help each and every person that comes in and attempt to give them what they need. Each person that comes in IS Jesus and we welcome him over and over again. We give him water and/or coffee. There is frequently candy or snacks. He gets clothing; he gets food; he gets conversation; he receives a smile; he brightens our day as he passes through Helping Hands at First English and returns out into the sometimes harsh world.
Please join us in this endeavor of radical hospitality.
