Feel Good Friday – 11/14/25

It’s Feel Good Friday at Helping Hands at First English.

I want to talk to you about HOPE.

Due to our current administration’s decision to shut down SNAP, we served 571 guests last weekend. That’s almost 100 more than our prior record, set during the pandemic.

Here’s where the hope comes in…
This little grass-roots pantry is run by YOU—our community. We have no big grant funding, no massive hoard of wealth to pull from. We celebrate when we’re LESS in the red than usual!

However, you have decided that it’s important to:

…have a place where hungry people are treated with dignity and respect!

…have a place where people don’t have to PROVE they’re hungry and struggling, where they don’t have to spend time and resources tracking down a voucher to be fed!

…have a place that celebrates our community and connection, knowing we are only as strong as our most vulnerable neighbors!

…have a place where we recognize loving “the least of these” is the same as loving God!

With your support, we will keep showing up, being boots on the ground for those living an emergency EVERY SINGLE DAY!

We will keep reaching beyond the scope of a food pantry, connecting our guests to housing, mental health support, and expanding the possibilities for their lives!

We’re in a matching fund campaign with Town Pump for TWO MORE WEEKS. Please help, and THANK YOU for your support so far!
