This week at Helping Hands, we’re walking alongside a guest as they work toward a more stable future — helping them get to appointments for housing, mental health care, and other vital benefits.
At the same time, we continue feeding hundreds of neighbors each week with the help of this amazing community. We recognize that accompaniment is important work, but it pales when compared to the work many of our guests are engaged in—guests who may have already carried more burdens that some could even imagine.
We believe in offering not just a hand out, but a hand up — meeting people with dignity, compassion, and hope.
Thank you for helping us provide gospel hospitality and to love our neighbors well. Every meal, every step alongside someone walking a difficult path, every kind word matters more than you know.
If anyone should tell you that this work is futile, or that people choose this kind of lifestyle—tell them to talk to a Helping Hands board member or volunteer. We have so many stories of miracles happening and lives being, very literally, saved.
And pray they can find some hope, too.
