Record-Breaking Day

Saturday was a record-breaking day at Helping Hands at First English. We served 571 neighbors, breaking our last record from the Covid days by about 100.

When someone who is in need comes to Helping Hands, we feed them. We do not turn them away. I was shocked this week when another feeding organization in our community sent someone to us because they’d had their wallet stolen, rather than help them out.

When you’re trying to feed your kids, you shouldn’t have to run around getting a voucher. We’d much rather accidentally feed someone who wasn’t desperately in need than NOT feed someone who is.

We will operate from this place of abundance as long as God continues to provide, through the good people who are able to donate.

Grateful for the friends of Helping Hands who came out Saturday morning to advocate for our neighbors who have been impacted by the SNAP cuts.

We are here for you. ❤️
