It’s Feel Good Friday at Helping Hands!
As you may know, we feed hundreds of guests each week in our downtown community, which is an census-designated area of concentrated poverty.
What you may not know, is that as we’ve grown we have been able to increase our services! We have been key in helping several homeless guests acquire housing. It’s been truly an honor and a joy to do this work.
We are currently working with a long term Helping Hands guest who will be moving into her own apartment in the next two weeks! Having gotten to know her over the years, we are overjoyed.
Imagine being a woman on the streets, for years. She is one of the strongest, bravest people I know.
She will need EVERYTHING for her new place! Please look around and see if there’s anything you’d like to give to her—starting with basic needs such as a bed, couch, small table, chairs, silverware, dishes, glasses/mugs—you name it.
We’d also love to set her up with all the supplies she’ll need to get off to a good start, such as cleaning supplies, sheets, toiletries, etc.
Anything you could contribute would be appreciated.
